Free event to highlight work of the Tweed’s first responders

The All Emergency Services Expo will be held at Jack Evans Boat Harbour on Saturday 1 July from 10 am to 2 pm. This event aims to promote emergency preparedness and provide an opportunity for the community to engage with local heroes, learn about volunteering opportunities, and witness demonstrations from various first response agencies.

Engaging with local heroes and promoting disaster readiness

Residents will have the chance to meet and interact with first responders such as the NSW Police, NSW Ambulance Service, NSW SES, NSW Marine Rescue, Surf Life Saving NSW, Red Cross Australia, and more.

The event offers a valuable opportunity for the community to learn about volunteering opportunities, witness equipment demonstrations, and gain a better understanding of the importance of preparation and planning in ensuring their own safety and the safety of their neighbors.

Mayor Chris Cherry emphasizes the importance of community resilience

Mayor Chris Cherry of Tweed Shire recognizes the significance of the All Emergency Services Expo in promoting disaster readiness, particularly in light of the 2022 floods. She highlights the value of frontline heroes and stresses the importance of community preparedness.

Reflecting on the 2022 floods, Mayor Cherry emphasizes the need for residents to be informed, aware, and ready in the face of emergencies.
