Much-loved summer staple Laneway Festival has announced its highly anticipated 2024 line-up, promising an impressive mix of music to captivate audiences in capital cities across Australia this February. Renowned for curating some of the best bills in the music industry, this year’s line-up is no exception, boasting a diverse range of international and local talent, as well as exciting newcomers.

Headlining Acts

Leading the festivities will be British rap kingpin Stormzy, making a long-awaited return to Australia after cancelling his previous tour Down Under in 2022. Stormzy, who gained household fame in the UK following his historic Glastonbury performance, is known for his commanding and charismatic stage presence. This will be a monumental opportunity for Australian fans to witness his greatness live for the first time in seven years.

Joining Stormzy on the headline list is American singer-songwriter and producer Steve Lacy, known for his work with Grammy-nominated RnB group The Internet and collaborations with artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Tyler, The Creator. Lacy gained recognition through his viral hit ‘Bad Habit’ and will be performing exclusively at festival stages in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth.

International Discoveries

The Laneway Festival is also known for introducing Australian audiences to international talent, and this year is no exception. British singer-songwriter RAYE will bring her deeply personal songs, inspired by her experiences with sexual abuse, addiction, and the struggles of the music industry. Another international act to watch out for is New Zealand’s Unknown Mortal Orchestra, who will showcase their unique blend of soulful yacht rock and Hawaiian-inspired funk. Their latest album, V, has been hailed as one of the best releases of the year.

For those looking to dance, Nia Archives, a rising producer from Bristol, will be spinning a mix of reggae, soul, hip-hop, and disco with a future-facing twist. Meanwhile, Atlanta artist Faye Webster will captivate the audience with her seamless fusion of ’70s troubadour sounds and rap and RnB influences.

Australian Talent

The Laneway Festival proudly features a strong lineup of Australian artists who continue to make a significant impact on the local music scene. Dope Lemon, the solo project of Angus Stone, will showcase the mood-setting jams from his fourth album, Kimosabè. Beloved tunesmith Angie McMahon will mesmerize the audience with her insightful songs and stunning voice. And for those missing the heyday of indie rock, Unearthed favorites Teenage Dads will provide a nostalgic soundscape.

Other notable Australian acts include JK-47, a proud Bundjalung MC known for his powerful storytelling, and Paris Texas, a rising rap duo with a fresh and unique sound. The festival will also introduce Filipino singer-songwriter, producer, and rapper Eyedress, as well as the dynamic duo DOMi & JD Beck, who have garnered attention for their lightning-fast jazz-infused performances.

A Musical Feast

The Laneway Festival promises to be a musical feast of diverse genres and styles, catering to various tastes and preferences. From the infectious pop sounds of Dominic Fike to the campy dance-pop of Confidence Man, there is something for everyone. Attendees can also look forward to the equestrian-themed house music of horsegiirL and the soulful tunes of Miss Kaninna.

With additional acts yet to be announced, Laneway Festival 2024 is shaping up to be an unmissable event for music lovers across Australia. Tickets will go on sale on September 14th, so mark your calendars and prepare for an unforgettable experience.
