Bagnaia Secures Pole Position for Italian MotoGP
In the qualifying session for the Italian MotoGP at Mugello, Francesco Bagnaia clinched his third pole position of the season with a time of 1m44.855s. He edged out Marc Marquez by just under a tenth of a second in the final moments of Q2, successfully breaking the 1m45s barrier. Jorge Martin initially led the session, but Bagnaia moved ahead of him during the second set of runs.

Crashes and Eliminations for Yamaha
The factory Yamahas of Fabio Quartararo and Franco Morbidelli both failed to progress to Q2 and got eliminated in Q1. Quartararo has now faced three successive Q1 eliminations this season. RNF Aprilia’s Raul Fernandez suffered a huge crash at Biondetti 1, putting him in the 20th position on the grid. Brad Binder also suffered a crash at Turn 11. Aleix Espargaro’s heroic effort on his factory Aprilia secured him seventh on the grid.
