Mika, accompanied by the children of la Maîtrise Populaire de l’Opéra, will perform an energetic and colourful medley incorporating some of his biggest hits, rearranged specifically for this occasion. This performance aims to take the audience on an exciting musical journey, setting the tone for the epic rugby match that follows.

La Mêlée des Choeurs: A Celebration of Togetherness

Launched in collaboration with the French ministries of Education, Culture, and the Opéra Comique, La Mêlée des Choeurs is a groundbreaking project that combines art, education, and experience. The initiative involved 7,000 children from across France, who were chosen to record and perform the national anthems of the 20 participating nations of the Rugby World Cup 2023. These performances were accompanied by la Maîtrise Populaire de l’Opéra Comique, their teachers, and music professors, who were trained for an entire year by the teachers of la Maîtrise Populaire de l’Opéra Comique, including artistic director Sarah Kone.

Mika, who was announced as the ambassador of La Mêlée des Choeurs in May 2023, has been working closely with the initiative to deliver captivating renditions of the national anthems of Rugby World Cup 2023.
