Taylor Swift Announces Australian Tour Dates
Only Melbourne and Sydney make the cut for the Australian leg of The Eras Tour
After much anticipation, international pop superstar Taylor Swift has confirmed the Australian leg of her world tour, The Eras Tour. Swift will be making her way down under in February of next year to perform in two major cities: Melbourne and Sydney. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 30th, with pre-sales beginning earlier in the week.
Speculation Confirmed
It had been widely speculated that Swift’s visit to Australia would be a short one, and the rumors have been confirmed with only Melbourne and Sydney making the cut. The pop superstar will be performing two shows at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and three shows at Accor Stadium in Sydney.
Australia, a Special Place for Swift
Swift has a strong association with Australia, having achieved significant milestones in the Australian music charts. She became the first artist to simultaneously hold a number one ARIA album, number one ARIA single, and number one Australian airplay single. Additionally, she holds the record for the most singles to debut in the top 10 of the ARIA Singles Chart.
International Dates
While New Zealand misses out on The Eras Tour, Swift has also confirmed dates in several other countries, including Mexico, Argentina, Japan, and France. This demonstrates the global appeal and reach of the pop sensation.
Highly Anticipated Tour
Swift’s tour dates so far have received highly positive reviews. Rolling Stone recently described The Eras Tour as a “3-hour career-spanning victory lap,” while The Guardian gave it a glowing five-star review, praising the “extravagant staging” and “fan-pleasing 44-song set.”
Special Guest Support
Swift will be supported by special guest Sabrina Carpenter for the Australian leg of The Eras Tour. Carpenter, a singer-songwriter and actor, released her fifth studio album, Emails I Can’t Send, to critical acclaim last year.
